IFG Miami Conference shines a light on nextgen leadership

December 17, 2024

Preparing future generations for future family leadership roles was a key theme in the spotlight at this year’s Institute for Family Governance (IFG) Miami Conference 2024 recently.

Held earlier this month (December 5) and once again sponsored by Crestbridge Fiduciary LLC, the event – entitled ‘Empowering Beneficiaries Through Inter-Generational Planning’ - brought together family members, professional advisors, private client lawyers, trustees and experts from around the world, to discuss a broad cross-section of topical issues faced by families.

Through a series of panel sessions and keynote speeches, the event also explored future trends in the family office space, including the importance of preparing the nextgen for future leadership roles and the relationship between good governance and managing difficult family decisions.

Darrell King, Managing Director – Americas at Crestbridge Fiduciary attended the event and hosted a lunchtime roundtable discussion focusing on these issues and the approaches families are taking when mapping out the transition of wealth and authority to future generations.

Commenting on the event, Darrell said:

“This was the fourth year we have supported this conference, and once again the quality of debate and discussion was excellent, providing some meaningful and valuable insights into the challenges families face as they look to transfer both wealth and influence to the next generation. I was particularly pleased to chair the lunch roundtable discussion this year, which provided a lively and open platform to share views from across the sector on these highly pertinent issues.”
